What is AHK-Cu ?

AHK-Cu is a short copper-binding tripeptide (alanine-histidine-lysine) developed with a focus on hair-follicle biology. In controlled laboratory models using isolated human hair follicles, AHK-Cu lengthened hair-shaft growth and supported dermal papilla, the key cells at the base of the follicle, helping maintain the active growth phase (anagen).^{REF 1} 

Like other copper peptides, it helps rebalance local signalling, encouraging pro-growth cues while tempering the "slow-down" messages that push follicles toward rest (telogen), creating conditions that favour continued growth.^{REF 2} 

Topically, copper tripeptides can penetrate and persist in skin, making AHK-Cu well suited to leave-on scalp formulas and to pairing with treatments such as minoxidil.^{REF 3}
